During a routine dental visit, Dr. Newman will perform an examination of your mouth to identify signs of oral cancer. We use VELscope technology to examine oral mucosa and identify tissue abnormalities like pre-cancer, cancer, and other diseases in a quick and non-painful way. If there are signs present, she will recommend additional tests to properly diagnose oral cancer and start treatment.
