Hello! I am Dr. Violet Newman and I want to welcome you to Lakeview Dental Centre in Calgary. I am a general dentist and the owner of Lakeview Dental Centre, which has been serving the Lakeview community since 1988.
I first graduated dental school in 2001 from Iuliu Hatieganu University in Cluj-Napoca, the capital city of Transylvania, Romania. After one year of internship done at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical Clinic in Cluj, I decided to start a career as an oral surgeon and started my Residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery along with my second degree in General Medicine. I interrupted my studies in 2005 when I moved to Toronto, Canada and I’ve received my DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree in 2009 with honours from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto.
In 2009, I moved to Calgary and worked as an associate dentist until 2010 when I took over as owner of Lakeview Dental Centre. Although oral surgery is my passion, I practice and enjoy all other aspects of dentistry including root canals, extractions, wisdom teeth, gum surgery or pinhole gum rejuvenation treatment, dental implants, crowns, bridges and veneers, dentures, and dental treatment for children, along with cosmetic treatments like neuromodulators (Botox) and dermal fillers.
I am very passionate about my work and I always strive to achieve excellence on a professional and personal level. I enjoy working with all age groups and use my knowledge and skills along with the latest technology to help my patients achieve not only a beautiful smile but also optimal oral and overall health. I enjoy exploring the new advancements in dentistry and always try to find the best professional advice for my patients. I take pride in staying current with all continuing education courses and I am currently a member of the Alberta Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association and the University of Toronto Alumni Association.
I also understand the different expectations patients have and I wish to help by giving all the options available when making decisions about your treatment.
I am happily married to Dr. Alex Newman (owner of Eastport Dental Centre) and we have an 11-year-old son, an 18-year-old daughter, and a wonderful puppy named Cooper!
In my spare time, my family and I like to keep very active with activities such as skiing in the Rockies, fishing, hiking in the great outdoors, and exploring Canada’s great lakes with our boat. I am also very passionate about personal fitness, nutrition, and an overall healthy and happy lifestyle.

My name is Allison and I will be the first person to welcome you as you walk into our office. I have worked in the dental field for many years, initially starting my career as a dental assistant and then moving into a dental receptionist/office manager role where I continue to work. I love interacting with patients and trying to make them feel as comfortable as possible, while also helping them with any insurance or dental procedure questions that they may have. I am very proud to work at Lakeview Dental Centre with Dr. Violet Newman and the amazing dental team!
I am a foreign-trained dentist from India. I moved to Calgary, Canada in 2014 and I wanted to continue my career in dentistry and that is when I got my dental assisting license in 2017. I have been with Lakeview Dental Centre since 2019. I am very passionate about the dental field and want to make a difference in each individual’s life by helping them achieve optimal oral health. I believe that a beautiful, healthy smile can instill great confidence in a person. My friendly, outgoing personality makes people less anxious about their dental treatment.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter, and our fur baby. I enjoy hiking, camping and reading books.
I got into dentistry because I love to help people and enjoy making a difference in patients’ overall health. Putting a smile on someone’s face is extremely important to me because you never know what someone is going through. Boosting someone’s confidence and overall appearance is one of the rewards of working in the dental field.
I graduated as a Registered Dental Assistant in 2014 from Okanagan College in Kelowna. Shortly after finishing school, I moved to Calgary where I met my husband. We have 3 cats, and outside of work, I love to go camping, travelling, and adventuring outdoors.
I have practiced dental hygiene for over 3 years. I began my studies in Winnipeg, and later graduated dental hygiene with honours from Toronto. I take pride in educating our patients on periodontal maintenance and prevention of gum disease, helping them understand the connection between their oral and general health through dental hygiene and periodontal treatments based on their individual needs. I have a welcoming personality and a gentle touch to help make your dental cleaning appointment feel as comfortable as possible. I love being in a position where I can influence my patient’s oral health in a positive way, not only giving them a reason to smile but also boosting their quality of life.
Outside of work, I enjoy the outdoors, boxing classes, creating digital art, and playing with my adorable staffy/kelpy puppy.
